In her work, Elín draws inspiration from nature and forms found in nature. She ponders various fragments of memories from her hikes around Iceland.
In her paintings, Elín has worked with expressionist painting methods mixed with drawing. Her work is based on nature experiences and is a personal elaboration of her environment and life.
Elín has held solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in Iceland and abroad. She studied sculpture at the Royal Danish Academy and graduated with an MFA from the University of New Paltz, NY in sculpture and graphics.
